Steven Madden Ltd., the company behind licensee brand Steve Madden, inked a licensing deal with Dualstar Entertainment Group, a.k.a. the Olsen Twin’s mega-empire to produce a collection of footwear and accessories for the new Olsenboye line.

Olsenboye, which is the Olsen’s ancestral name, is going to be distributed exclusively at J.C. Penney with a teaser preview to 50 stores and on jcp.com starting November 6th.  The full collection will be available to 600 J.C. Penney stores later in February, retailing from $20 to $50 and includes sizes 0 to 15.

The Olsenboye shoe collection will consist of styles such as colorful suede flats and casual canvas sneakers.  The handbags come a variety of slouched shapes as well as smaller bucket bags and feature acid wash and plaid prints.  It seems the Olsen Twins are still very much in their grunge hobo phase, just translating it down to a mass market.  Mary Kate and Ashley, as much as I love you both, I may just have to pass on Olsenboye and stick to the classics: The Row and Elizabeth and James.

First Look: Sonia Rykiel for H&M Lingerie Campaign

Posted by Kim On November - 1 - 2009

Sonia Rykiel for H&M

First look with a leaked image of the upcoming H&M collaboration with Sonia Rykiel featuring models Lara Stone, Caroline Trentini & Anne Vyalitsyna in playful lingerie.  The upcoming collection goes on sale in 1,500 H&M stores on December 5th as well as availability in Rykiel boutiques.  A launch party will take place in the Parisian landmark Grand Palais, the venue most known for hosting Chanel fashion shows and major art fairs on December 1st to kick off the first half of the collaboration.

I’m not really fond the protruding rosettes strategically placed on the nips, but I am feeling Lara Stone as a brunette.  From the first look, will you buy into this line?

Such Great Heights

McQueen Spring/Summer 2010

Everyone gasped with sheer terror, part amazement, and in trepidation as the models clopped out during the Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2010 show.  The unforgettable footwear forged futuristic fantasies and signaled that platforms are here to stay (for a few seasons longer).  The ladies over at Vogue UK showed us civilians the great heights models went through during the show.

12" McQueen vs 5" LouboutinA side by side shot of the infamous McQueen futuristic Armadillo bootie compared to a lowly 5″ Louboutin.

12" McQueen Spring/Summer 2010The Armadillo booties measured in at only a mere 12 inches, perfect for those vertically challenged, those with foot fetishes, and en pointe ballerinas.  I will think twice the next time I wince & whine about my 5″ Loubies that have rendered my toesies useless.

Shoe Conversation - by Tommy Ton
Instant conversation pieces caught in a casual exchange. Simple works of art on their feet. Definitely not make for walking, but who doesn’t love a good wallflower?
