Every year since we were children, one of my Mother’s Christmas gift request is a portrait of my siblings and I with Santa. It’s becoming slightly problematic as we grow older, since Santa’s chair is only so big and having to sit on Santa’s lap is… not going to lie, kind of awkward. Though as the saying goes; what Mama Huynh wants, Mama Huynh gets.
This year, we dropped the ball with our conflicting schedules and waited until the very last minute to make our visit to Santa’s Village. I’m talking about two hours before the mall closed on Christmas Eve and the line to visit Santa was wrapping around the mall with many teary-eyed children.
So we waited… and waited… and then improvised. We completed our last minute shopping, had some Social Sun fun, grabbed a meal, and snuck into Santa’s Village after hours. Father Noel was no longer there, but his happy helpers gave us the okay to do as we pleased. While our Mother was happy to have her children together, we did have to go through the whole “what had happened was…” Happy Holidays!
