In the land where everything is bigger and better – The higher the hair, bevy of blondes and a collection of some of the freshest bloggers in the game – Sea of Shoes, Atlantis Home, Bag Snob, Life in Travel, Nini Style and with many more popping up everyday. You can only expect the fashion to be over the top as well. So whether you’re just visiting, passing through on a long layover, or have lived in Big D for years; here is a compilation of some of the best shopping Dallas has to offer.

Vintage Martini - My personal favorite vintage store, as well as well visited by bloggers: Jane, Judy and Tina.  Check out their amazing sales, and dig in the “Graveyard” for ridiculously frugal finds. In-store and online, there is a mix of well preserved vintage threads to designer wares from pre-Victorian days to recent releases on consignment. The jewelry and shoes selection are worth a viewing, while the furs are a must see! Tell Ken I sent you and perhaps he’ll mix up a batch of his special Texas tea.

Northpark Center – The place where art and fashion meet and created you have with such a mix of Neiman’s, Barney’s, Sunglass Hut, and recently a slew of designer stores have opened up shop  Versace, You’ll forget you’re in a mall and perusing a museum instead. The H&M temporary Pop-Up shop is tiding over until the real deal opens in October 2011.

Highland Park Village – Home of all things high class, this premier shopping area includes some impressive boutiques that will give your wallet a workout, such as: Chanel, Louboutin, Hermes, Harry Winston, and the newly open DVF. For more reasonably priced shopping revelry; try Anthropologie, Scoop, and Hadleigh’s.

Fourty Five Ten - Craving a midday shopping and carb binge? Then you can find your fix at this Dallas staple. Take a second glance, and you’ll realize you’re lunching next to model Erin Wasson or Jessica Simpson within the delectable T Room. Grab that Alaia, McQueen, Proenza Schouler, Margiela, Stella McCartney, or Balenciaga before a Southern celebrity does.

Dolly Python – Eclectic and antique finds with the right amount of vintage; you never know what surprises are in store. Neon lights will lead you into the land of furniture, housewares, couture clothing, and never ending knick knacks. Stop by on certain days where you can get a psychic reading while you shop.

V.O.D.  - Located within Victory Park, marvel at Isabel Marant, Vanessa Bruno and all the pieces to fill your Francophile obsession. The perfectly edited store carries all modern and upcoming lines you desire, but cannot find elsewhere in the city limits.  Get on their guest list for some fashionable fetes and trunk shows with Olsen twin’s favorites like Madga Berliner.

While your stimilating the city’s economy also take in all the sights to see: Traveling Men, JFK Memorial and 6th Floor Museum, Nasher Sculpture Center, the new Arts District with the Winspear Opera House, and of course finish it all off with a few sporting events with the Dallas Stars, Mavs, and Cowboys.

In a nutshell, I spent New Year’s Eve at dinner with my brothers at DISH, then some time with my best friend, and danced the night away with Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights at the Granada. Contemplating sleeping in or going out, all the way until the very last minute thus made me way overdue for dinner. I dragged my tired butt out to ring in the New Year by throwing on a not quite vintage but not quite new, sequined See by Chloe dress and ran out the door. In quick change queen form, I was putting the finishing touches on via rear view mirror. If these past few days are a sign of what’s to come, then I’m thrilled and welcoming 2011 with open arms. I’m glad I skipped a few more hours of sleep to spend it with my loved ones. Hope yours was just as warm and fuzzy! Happy New Year!

2011 New Year’s Resolutions:

To travel the world - The more I see, I find the more I learn.

To get back in shape - I’ll never be my lithe model self again, but it would be nice to live a more balanced life with maybe not so many carb binges.

To save – While it will be awesome to pass down a wicked vintage collection and a plethora of Chanel bags to my future daughters; it’s more important to provide a financial security for my future generations.

Pay it forward – Great things have come into my life and I want to share the wealth with others. To be able to pass on the positivity and make good changes and keep the cycle going.

First Look at Jane Aldridge of “Sea of Shoes” designs for Urban Outfitters

After months of rumors and speculation on the blogger darling, Jane of Sea of Shoes and Urban Outfitters collaboration, the first image was released today and causing a web frenzy.  Urban Outfitters sought out Jane’s talents after viewing her expressiveness and creativity on her cult-status blog.

Avid readers and shoe fanatics will have to contain themselves until this capsule collection exclusive to Urban Outfitters of three styles is released next month in July. “I’m really excited to bring my designs to Urban Outfitters,” says Aldridge. “The inspiration for this collection is a mish-mash of some of the elements of my favorite pairs—sort of Victoriana meets gladiator warrior.”

Within the collection there is to be:

1) Dramatic knee-high brown leather peep-toe boots featuring top-stitched detailing
2) Lacing at the front, black gladiator heels with studs and twin buckle straps
3) Lace-up pointy skimmers

Kudos to my fellow Texan and for bloggers taking the fashion world by storm!
