Steve Madden for Olsenboye Suede Flat

Steve Madden for Olsenboye Suede Flat

Steven Madden Ltd., the company behind licensee brand Steve Madden, inked a licensing deal with Dualstar Entertainment Group, a.k.a. the Olsen Twin’s mega-empire to produce a collection of footwear and accessories for the new Olsenboye line.

Olsenboye, which is the Olsen’s ancestral name, is going to be distributed exclusively at J.C. Penney with a teaser preview to 50 stores and on jcp.com starting November 6th.  The full collection will be available to 600 J.C. Penney stores later in February, retailing from $20 to $50 and includes sizes 0 to 15.

The Olsenboye shoe collection will consist of styles such as colorful suede flats and casual canvas sneakers.  The handbags come a variety of slouched shapes as well as smaller bucket bags and feature acid wash and plaid prints.  It seems the Olsen Twins are still very much in their grunge hobo phase, just translating it down to a mass market.  Mary Kate and Ashley, as much as I love you both, I may just have to pass on Olsenboye and stick to the classics: The Row and Elizabeth and James.

Such Great Heights

McQueen Spring/Summer 2010

Everyone gasped with sheer terror, part amazement, and in trepidation as the models clopped out during the Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2010 show.  The unforgettable footwear forged futuristic fantasies and signaled that platforms are here to stay (for a few seasons longer).  The ladies over at Vogue UK showed us civilians the great heights models went through during the show.

12" McQueen vs 5" LouboutinA side by side shot of the infamous McQueen futuristic Armadillo bootie compared to a lowly 5″ Louboutin.

12" McQueen Spring/Summer 2010The Armadillo booties measured in at only a mere 12 inches, perfect for those vertically challenged, those with foot fetishes, and en pointe ballerinas.  I will think twice the next time I wince & whine about my 5″ Loubies that have rendered my toesies useless.

As if all women weren’t already coveting Alexander Wang and all his past seasons of fabulousness, he releases a preview of Fall 2009 shoes and bag collection. So break open your piggy banks because you’ll definitely want to scoop up a few pairs and a dozen or so bags.

The infamous Coco Duffel bag makes it’s official debut in this collection after being carried lovingly by the likes of Mary-Kate Olsen and other fashionistas. The bag collection is complete with distressed leathers available in a myriad of colors with details of chains, studs, and just the right amount of slouch. I cannot stop lusting after the buckle booties in luscious croc and the delight of screw spikes displaced in lucite heels.

Newest IT girl, Dree Hemingway escorted the designer to the 2009 CFDA awards wearing a custom made dress and heels from the new collection. Watch the adorable video of the duo and their wardrobe mishap.

F@*k Me Shoes

LAMB Gladiators

L.A.M.B. Dawn Platform Gladiators

While running errands and catching a bite to eat with my lover, he instantaneously had two comments about my heels.
1.  ”Is it hard to walk in those?  You’re as tall as me now!”  To which I responded, “A breeze” until I tripped over a rock. Oof.

2.  ”Those are total ‘Fuck Me’ shoes…”  which he carried on with a delightful description.

No pictures of the outfit today as I was just in the Cali uniform of – distressed skinnies and a slubby racerback  pocket tank.   Also the beau and I are headed to a tasting tonight at Se’ Hotel in the Gaslamp District at Suite and Tender. Surf and turf here I come!
